Diese Arbeit zeigt eine Fotografie der Shoah-Namensmauern-Gedenkstätte in Wien, in die der Name Moritz Schicks eingekerbt ist. Bianca Pedrina unternimmt den Versuch, eine Verbindung zu ihrem Urgroßvater herzustellen, indem sie ihren Schatten auf
seinen Namen wirft.

Die 2021 eröffnete Gedenkstätte erinnert an die in der Shoah ermordeten jüdischen Kinder, Frauen und Männer aus Österreich (nicht aber an alle weiteren Opfer). Das Denkmal befindet sich im Ostarrîchi-Park im 9. Bezirk und besteht aus rund 160 oval angeordneten Steintafeln, in welche die Namen der circa 65.000 österreichischen Opfer der Shoah eingraviert sind.

This work features a photograph of the Shoah Wall of Names memorial in Vienna, on which the name Moritz Schicks is inscribed. Bianca Pedrina attempts to establish a connection with her great-grandfather by casting her shadow over his name.
Opened in 2021, the memorial commemorates the Jewish children, women and men from Austria who were murdered in the Shoah (but not all other victims). The memorial is located in Ostarrîchi Park in the 9th district and consists of around 160 stone slabs arranged in an oval formation, on which the names of the approximately 65,000 Austrian victims of the Shoah are engraved.
